What it was
A pre-owned platinum color-change natural garnet and diamond statement ring. Set with a natural untreated color-change garnet from Africa accented with 0.98ctw of natural round brilliant cut diamonds. The weight of the ring is 8.9 grams.
How we evaluated it
First the center stone was evaluated for any treatments and to see if it is natural. Once the center stone was evaluated, the accent diamonds were checked as well as the metal content of the ring.
How it was priced
The center stone was priced individually according to market demands for color-change garnet. Any color-change garnet over 2.0 carats is very rare especially when the color changes from blue to red like this one did. Once the center stone was priced, the accent diamonds and metal content of the rest of the ring was priced according to the current platinum and diamond market.
